Our clients requested an airy, soft, contemporary design for their primary bathroom, one that would seamlessly accommodate the needs of a wheelchair user while still reflecting the elegance and style they desired. From the beginning, we were mindful of incorporating functional design elements that would ensure the bathroom was accessible without compromising the modern look our clients envisioned.
One of the key changes we made was installing a roll-in shower, complete with ADA-compliant grab bars and a sturdy built-in seat. This not only enhances the ease and safety of showering but also adds a sleek, minimalist aesthetic to the space. We also designed a custom vanity that features an opening below the countertop, allowing our client to comfortably roll up and use the vanity without any obstacles.
Accessibility in the bathroom required wider doors and larger openings, particularly in the toilet room. We made sure to adjust these spaces to ensure smooth wheelchair movement and effortless transitions between areas. To further enhance ease of use, we left the closet open, allowing for quick, unhindered access to clothing and personal items. The result is a space that flows beautifully, offering both convenience and accessibility.
Material selection played an important role in maintaining the luxurious feel of the bathroom. We used high-touch, durable materials, such as natural stone and refined tiles, to add texture and warmth to the design. These materials not only meet the functional needs of the space but also elevate its aesthetic appeal. Every detail was chosen to create a harmonious balance between beauty and practicality.
