The design objective was to create a space which enhanced the original architectural details of this territorial home such as the Viga ceiling, Saltillo flooring, and large windows which frame the scenic desert landscape. The silhouette of the fireplace was re-configured, and re-faced with gray basalt stone tile to contribute balance, and a quiet strength to the room. Custom built-in shelves were designed to hold a unique collection of treasures featuring natural materials such as vine spheres, and wood sculptures. Occasional chairs with a mid-century modern twist were utilized to add an element of the unexpected while providing additional seating without obscuring the view. Varying patterns and textures of soft desert hues were selected for the wall color, and upholstery throughout the space to achieve this elegant and tranquil environment.

Great attention to detail was utilized to meld the original territorial elements of this master suite into a contemporary aesthetic. The vanity mirror was offset to accommodate hidden receptacles and appears to be floating against the textured linen wall covering. Flooring of authentic Saltillo tile with a diverse array of shades was maintained to capture the historical integrity of this alluring space. Custom alder cabinetry was designed to create warmth against the soothing gray hues of the porcelain tile and quartz countertop. A sleek slipper tub with an elegant drum chandelier was added to offer a relaxing retreat while the oversized spa shower accented with stainless steel fixtures provides an invigorating experience.
