Special attention was given to the kitchen, where functionality was improved by relocated the pantry and appointing pullout shelving. The custom cabinets are cherry with crown molding and decorative fluting, and satin finished granite countertops with a chiseled edge were applied to side work spaces, complimenting the natural limestone bar top; backsplashes are stacked limestone in a pattern that provides contrast to the granite. The central island’s height was raised for a more ergonomic cooking space, and hand-forged iron corbels were implemented on the new bar sitting created by the extension. This was expertly coordinated with custom iron hardware that were added to the refrigerator. Other additions include a furniture piece constructed from cabinet material with a darker finish and hand-carved detail, intended to be used for extra storage and the presentation of family heirloom china and crystal.

In the great room, a wood veneer casing was added to the existing shelving attached to the media center, allowing electronic components and wires to be entirely concealed. In the master bedroom, a furniture piece was commissioned, designed, and built to accommodate a television, additional media components, and a secure storage compartment.
