For this kitchen transformation, the goal was to take a previously dark and segmented space and reimagine it as a bright, open, and welcoming gathering place, while honoring the home’s original charm.
Previously, the layout was dominated by an awkwardly shaped peninsula that cut into the room and disrupted the flow. We removed it entirely and introduced two large islands, one for food prep and cooking, the other designed for entertaining and gathering. This new layout enhances functionality and invites people to linger, making the kitchen a true centerpiece for everyday living and special occasions alike.
To brighten the space, we selected soft, neutral cabinetry and a warm color palette to create a fresh, airy feel. A handmade Tabarka tile backsplash was installed as the kitchen’s focal point featuring artisan detail and just the right amount of pattern to draw the eye.
Oversized pendant lighting was chosen to anchor the islands and bring a sense of scale and sophistication. These striking fixtures not only illuminate the space beautifully but also add a sculptural element that elevates the overall design.
To enhance the kitchen’s functionality even further, we added a custom bar area perfect for entertaining, complete with beverage storage and display shelving. We also thoughtfully designed coffee bar creates a dedicated space for morning routines and daily rituals, keeping the rest of the kitchen clutter-free.
This remodel reflects a thoughtful balance of form and function. By preserving the original flooring and infusing the kitchen with light, texture, and elegance, we transformed what was once a dim and awkward layout into a spacious, stylish, and highly functional heart of the home.
